Abstract

ABSTRACT Nur Alfi NIM 15010106008. EFL Students’ Perception on Media Use in English Instructional Context. Supervised by: Isna Humaera, S. Ag., S.Pd.,M.Pd. This paper aims at investigating students’ perception on using media in instructional context. The data of this study were taken from students’ perceptionin SMKN 1 Kendari. The data were collected by observation, learning journalreflection and coding data. The results of this study are expected to givecontributions for students (1) It can attract students’ attention more, so that it canstimulate learning motivation. (2) It can make students’ do more learningactivities because they do not only listen to teacher’s explanation but also haveother activities such as observing, demonstrating and so forth. There are fivepoints which given by the researcher in reflection among them about students'responses, benefits, disadvantages, advantages, and suggestions. It is found thatmajority of participants felt that using media in learning English isunderstandable. There are only several weaknesses that need to be corrected bythe teacher in using media in learning English. They also gave some suggestionsto increase the quality of teaching and providing the variety of media. Keywords: English Instructional Context, Media, Perception
