Abstract
ABSTRACT Rahmadina Mukhtar/16010106047. Students’ Response towards Games Use as Warming-up Activity in Teaching English for Young Learner. Supervised by: Isna Humaera S.Ag, S.Pd, M.Pd This research aims at investigating on how students’ response toward the use of games as warming up activity in teaching English for young learners. This study was focus on students’ response to the use of games as warming up activity when they learn English in the classroom. This research is implemented by the researcher teach English in classroom by using games in the beginning of lesson for eight meetings. This research is conducted at class VII A at MTS Negeri 1 Konawe Selatan. The data were collected by using observation, questionnaire and students’ reflection. The collected data were analyzed by using qualitative methods. The data from observation was collected by using field notes. The data from both questionnaire and students’ reflection was analyzing through a process of coding and condensing the codes. It involved labeling the categories with a term. The results from both questionnaire and students’ reflection were calculated into percent and were represented in figures and then it explained in discussion. The result of the study shows that when games use as warming up activity, it helps students to learn easier. This study suggest that English teacher can use games as teaching method since games give pleasant class atmosphere and make students relax. Keywords: Games; Warming up activity; Young learners
