Abstract

ABSTRACT Ija Narmalawati. SID 17010106044. EFL Students’ Preference for E-learning Platforms: The Case of Google Classroom and Schoology. Supervised by: Abdul Halim, S. Pd., M. TESOL. This study aims to investigate students’ preferences on the use of Schoology and Google Classroom as online platform in EFL classroom. The participants of this study consist of 20 students in the fifth semester of the academic year of 2019/2020. The research method uses a qualitative approach with descriptive data analysis technique. The qualitative data were analyzed usingquestionnaire and students’ reflectionbased on learnability, visual design, and satisfaction category.Learnabilty revealed that Google Classroomis the easiest platform for student to use compared to Schoology. Visual design revealed that Google Classroomis more attractive design than Schoology. Satisfaction revealed thatstudents were more satisfied with the features of Google Classroomthan the features ofSchoology. Keywords:EFL Students, E-learning, Google Classroom, Schoology
