Abstract

ABSTRACT Izla Wardany. SID. 16010106010. An analysis of students’ error in writing Recount Text at SMAN 11 KENDARI. Supervised by: Isna Humaera, S.Ag, S.pd, M.Pd. This study sought to examine the most common error which students made in their recount text writing at X MIPA 1 SMA Negeri 11 Kendari. To gather the information, 15 students were selected; the students were enrolled at class X MIPA 1 SMAN 11 Kendari of academic year 2019–2020. This qualitative research were analysed by students’ writing draft. They were asked to write a Recount Text at least 100 words in 45 minutes. The results of the study revealed that in students’ writing sundries errors have researcher found namely; omission of articles, omission of preposition, omission of apostrophe, Omission of auxiliary, omission of countable and uncountable nouns. However, in omission error, omission of auxiliary was the common error done by students followed by percentage 37 %. Keywords: Students error; Error analysis; Recount text.
