Abstract

ABSTRACT Fitri Rini Ekasari SID 16010106078.“EFLStudents Perception on Extensive Reading.Supervised by: Isna Humaera S.Ag., S.Pd., M.Pd and Sarjaniah Zur S.Pd., M.Pd The purpose of this study was to determine the challenges faced by EFL Students Perception of Extensive Reading in the second semester for English Department students at the Islamic States Institute of Kendari. This study uses qualitative methods to collect data through reflection as a research instrument. The results of the study revealed that students felt helped by the application of the extensive reading method in learning and students were very interested in learning English by using the Extensive Reading method in choosing the reading topics they liked because they were free to choose reading topics, students could increase their vocabulary by reading a lot. Books, students are also motivated to study independently by using extensive reading methods, as well as time management in group work, and through extensive reading methods students can increase their interest in learning English.
