Abstract

This paper focuses on the ritual of posasiq in the village of Bungkutoko Mandar in Southeast Sulawesi and the method of Islam propagation within the ritual. The research data was collected by in-depth interviews, participant observation, and review and analysis document, with the procedures of data analysis are data reduction, data presentation and data verification. This study found that the ritual of posasiq in the Village of Bungkutoko Mandar in Southeast Sulawesi is divided into three major groups: Rituals performed in construction period while preparing for fishing; Ritual performed in production period held at the time in prepare everything, including completeness of equipment and supplies brought into the sea. At this phase, they perform some rituals before lowering the boat, including family’s behavior while the husband at the sea; Rituals performed in distribution period when fishing activity is completed. This ritual is usually packaged in mappabukaa event, which distributed meals for local residents and relatives were preceded by reading the prayer of thanksgiving. This ritual was held in the month of Ramadan as an expression of gratitude to Allah. Keywords: Islam Accommodation, Ritual of Posasiq, Bungkutoko Mandar Island. Abstrak Tulisan ini difokuskan pada bagaimana bentuk ritual Posasiq Mandar di Kelurahan Bungkutoko Sulawesi Tenggara dan bagaimana metode dakwah Islam pada Posasiq Mandar di Bungkutoko Sulawesi Tenggara.
