Abstract

ABSTRAK Musdalifah Hamka. NIM. 17030101022. Literasi Media Terhadap Pemberitaan Covid-19 di TV-One Pada Masyarakat Desa Wonua Morini. Dibimbing oleh: Sri Hadijah Arnus, S.Sos., M.Si Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi dari hasil pengamatan dan wawancara awal yang peneliti lakukan sebagai salah satu masyarakat Desa Wonua Morini Kecamatan Palangga Kabupaten Konawe Selatan terkait respon dan pemahaman masyarakat terhadap pemberitaan Covid-19 di TV-One. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana deskripsi pemberitaan Covid-19 di TV-One dan bagaimana literasi media masyarakat Desa Wonua Morini terhadap pemberitaan Covid-19 di TV-One. Penelitian ini menggunakan medote deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian dilakukan di Desa Wonua Morini, Kecamatan Palangga, Kabupaten Konawe Selatan. Pengambilan sampel dengan purpose sampling. Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 10 informan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Uji keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi data. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis Individual Competence Framework yaitu analisis untuk mengetahui kemampuan kemampuan literasi media seseorang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 1) dekripsi pemberitaan mengenai Covid-19 di TV-One didapatkan tayangan berita pada awal munculnya Covid-19 di Indonesia, TV-One menayangkan pemberitaan dengan narasi yang cukup menakutkan, selain itu di channel TV-One menayangkan pemberitaan mengenai Covid-19 pada bulan maret hingga mei 2020, menayangkan pemberitaan dengan tema ancaman Covid-19, pencegahan Covid�19, mengenai PSBB dan New Normal. 2) Literasi media masyarakat Desa Wonua Morini, melalui indikator-indikator yang ada dalam Personal Competence Framework, yang menunjukkan bahwa literasi media masyarakat tergolong dalam kategori Basic atau berada pada tingkatan rendah. Hal ini terlihat dari rendahnya daya kognisi, dan sikap kritis masyarakat. Dan banyak pula masyarakat yang tidak mampu menganalisis dan pengevaluasi isi pesan media televisi secara komprehensif, dan kemampuan masyarakat dalam mengkomunikasikan pesan melalui media juga terbatas. This research is based on the results of initial observations and interviews that the researchers conducted as one of the people of Wonua Morini Village, Palangga District, South Konawe Regency regarding the response and understanding of the community to the news of Covid-19 on TV-One. This study aims to find out how the description of the Covid-19 news on TV-One and how the media literacy of the Wonua Morini Village community towards the Covid-19 news on TV-One. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. The research was conducted in Wonua Morini Village, Palangga District, South Konawe Regency. Sampling with purpose sampling. Subjects in this study amounted to 10 informants. Data collection techniques used are interviews, observation, and documentation. Test the validity of the data using data triangulation. The data analysis technique uses the Individual Competence Framework analysis, which is an analysis to determine a person's media literacy ability. The results of the study show 1) a description of the news about Covid-19 on TV-One obtained news broadcasts at the beginning of the emergence of Covid-19 in Indonesia, TV-One broadcast news with a fairly scary narrative, besides that on the TV-One channel broadcast news about Covid�19 19 in March to May 2020, broadcast news with the theme of the threat of Covid-19, prevention of Covid-19, regarding PSBB and New Normal. 2) Community media literacy in Wonua Morini Village, through the indicators contained in the Personal Competence Framework, which shows that community media literacy belongs to the Basic category or is at a low level. This can be seen from the low power of cognition, and the critical attitude of the community. And many people are not able to analyze and evaluate the content of television media messages comprehensively, and the ability of the community to communicate messages through the media is also limited.
