Abstract

ABSTRACT Rifdah Ariqah NIM 15010106052. Students’ L2 Writing Improvement through Direct Corrective Feedback, Supervised by: Dr. Sitti Nurfaidah, M. Ed. and Suhartini Syukri, S. Pd. I., S. Pd., M. Pd This study is a qualitative research which aims to know how far direct corrective feedback can help students improving their writing ability at the eleventh grade of SMKN 1 Kendari. There are 10 participants used in this study. The instrument that used in this study is students’ documents. Documents contain of students’ writing test that consist of three drafts. To gain the data, researcher uses a recount text as writing test. The data is analyzed in three steps. The first is data reduction, the second is data display, and the last step is conclusion. The finding shows that the use of direct corrective feedback can help students to improve their writing ability by using direct corrective feedback specifically in written corrective feedback. It was evidenced by students’ mistake reduction in their writing in every draft. Keywords: direct corrective feedback, writing ability
