Abstract

This study aims to examine the concept of lovers in the poem "Dalam Matamu" written by Amir Hamzah and "Sajak Putih" written by Chairil Anwar and the concept ofbetrayal of lover,&IAmir Hamzah 's "Kusangka" and Chairil Anwar~'> "Penerimaan" poems. This study used a type of qualitative research using a case study method. Source data was obtaine , , observation and study of documents. Data&Jalysis were conducted by comparing the poetry of &ir Hamzah and Chairil Anwar. The results sh owed that the concept of lover in the work of Amir Hamrah. and Chairil Anwar was seen as a bearer of happiness, peace, beauty hope and intimacy in romantic situations. But, the expression of the two poets are different. The first poet tends to be democratic because he views the lover as his mother, while the se and poet tends to be individualistic becau. e he views lover as a private matter. Then, in 11iew of betrayal of lovers, Amir Hamrah. considers it as something that brings disappointment heartbreak, and anxiety so that it is difficult to be forgiven, while Chain!
