Abstract

Sharina SID 16010106021. Grammarly as a Medium to Help Raise Students’ Self-directed Learning in L2 Writing. Supervised by: Abdul Halim S. Pd, M. TESOL This present study is conducted to see how Grammarly as a medium can help raise students’ self-directed learning in L2 writing. This research implements qualitative research of study. Data were garnered mainly using questionnaires, reflections, and interviews which were distributed to 20 students of the third semester at the English Education Study Program in IAIN Kendari. The finding showed that Grammarly helped raise student’s self-directed learning by making them aware of the advantage of using Grammarly in improving their quality of writing and made them do the self-evaluation to see the progress of their writing. This study implies the lecturer or prospective teacher to help improve students’ writing by involving the use of a helpful technology such a Grammarly.
