Abstract

ABSTRACT Nasril SID 16010106042. The Implementation of Teacher Beliefs in Speaking Class. Supervised by : Abdul Halim, MA. TESOL. The purpose of this research is to analyse and investigate the implementation of teacher beliefs in speaking class. The participants of this study consist of a lecturer and four students from speaking class B fourth semester of English education at IAIN Kendari randomly selected based on the level of activity in the classroom. The qualitative data were analyzed by reflection from a lecturer and students. The results of the research indicated that the used teacher beliefs by teachers when teaching and interacting with students during the teaching and learning process could give understanding to the teacher about how to do quality teaching in the speaking class, makes teacher more able to managed time when giving activity in the class. This study implies that, the use of teacher beliefs in the classroom makes students feel enthusiastic and bolder in speaking in the front of class.
