Abstract

ABSTRAK Dyah Kumala Nastiti. NIM. 17010110016. Analisis Kesalahan Siswa dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Matematika Tipe HOTS. Dibimbing Oleh : Muh. Syarwa Sangila, M.Pd. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan jenis-jenis serta penyebab kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika tipe HOTS pada materi Program Linear pada siswa Kelas XI IPA 2 MAN 1 Konawe Selatan. Dalam pembelajaran matematika, banyak dijumpai siswa dengan kemampuan matematika yang relatif rendah sehingga mereka kesusahan dalam menyelesaikan suatu permasalahan yang mengakibatkan siswa melakukan beberapa kesalahan dalam menyelesaikannya. Melihat hal tersebut, perlu dilakukan pengkajian lebih dalam untuk mengetahui penyebab kesalahan tersebut demi meningkatkan kemampuan matematika siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah pemberian tes, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Tes yang diberikan berupa tes tertulis berbentuk soal matematika tipe HOTS berbentuk essai untuk mengetahui jenis kesalahan siswa. Adapun teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan mereduksi data, menyajikan data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil data yang diperoleh peneliti dianalisis oleh peneliti dengan menggunakan teori kesalahan Newman. Adapun jenis kesalahan dalam teori kesalahan Newman adalah : 1) kesalahan membaca, 2) kesalahan memahami, 3) kesalahan transformasi, 4) kesalahan keterampilan proses, dan 5) kesalahan penulisan jawaban akhir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa melakukan kesalahan dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan yang diberikan, dimana kesalahan membaca (reading error) rata-rata dilakukan oleh siswa, kesalahan memahami (comprehension error) dilakukan oleh siswa, kesalahan transformasi (tranformation error) dilakukan oleh siswa, kesalahan keterampilan proses (prosess skill error) dilakukan oleh siswa, dan kesalahan penulisan jawaban akhir (endcoding error) dilakukan oleh siswa. Adapun faktor utama penyebab kesalahan siswa adalah belum paham cara penyelesaian, salah dalam menuliskan dan operasi, serta kurang fokus dalam menyelesaikan soal Kata Kunci : Analisis Kesalahan; Newman; Soal HOTS; Program Linear. This study aims to describe the types and causes of student errors in solving HOTS type math problems in the Linear Program material for students of Class XI IPA 2 MAN 1 Konawe Selatan. In learning mathematics, many students are found with relatively low mathematical abilities so that they have difficulty in solving a problem which causes students to make several mistakes in solving it. Based on these, it is necessary to conduct a deeper study to find out the causes of these errors in order to improve students' mathematical abilities. This research was conducted with a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. Data collection techniques in this study were giving tests, interviews and documentation. The test given is in the form of a written test in the form of a HOTS type of math problem in the form of an essay to determine the types of student errors. The data analysis technique is done by reducing the data, presenting the data and drawing conclusions. The results of the data obtained by researchers were analyzed by researchers using the Newman error theory. The types of errors in Newman's theory of error are : 1) reading errors, 2) comprehension errors, 3) transformation errors, 4) process skill errors, and 5) endcoding. error (error writing the final answer). The results showed that students made mistakes in solving the problems given, where reading errors were made on average by % of students, comprehension errors were made by % of students, transformation errors was made by % of students, process skill error was made by % of students, and writing error of final answer was made by % of students.
